Synopsis

Fragments is a short documentary about an Iranian-swedish mother reflecting on the cause of her family's exile to Sweden. When her 5 year old son who was born in Sweden asks her why we are here.
In light of the events happening in Iran, the film pictures fragments of Irans contemporary history through the family's memory of what happened back home.

Director's biography

Babak Parham was born in 1984 and grew up in Tehran, Iran. He is based in Stockholm, Sweden since 2009 and studied film production at Lund University. He has worked for Swedish national TV, SVT and currently is working as a producer at Swedish national radio SR, since 2015. Currently he is studying masters in documentary filmmaking at Stockholms university of arts.
