Early Bird 2017 Highlights

One director - two Early Bird Grand Awards

For the first time in the Festival's history the Early Bird Grand Award was awarded to a director who has already received it in a previous edition of the Festival. This is Ana-Maria Comănescu from the Academy of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography, Bucharest, Romania. She was awarded for her films  In the House in 2015 and Sex, pipe, omelette in 2017. According to the Regulations of the Festival Mrs. Comănescu will be the President of the Jury for the second time which is also a precedent. We are looking forward to welcoming her back to Sofia in November. You may learn more about Ana-Maria on Jury page.

Early Bird 2017 Awards

Besides the awards in the traditional 10 categories, for the first time in this edition of the festival new 11th Prize was awarded - in support of our partnership with the Southeast-European Cinema Schools. See more about the awarded films in the Gallery.
