The 14th edition of Early Bird International Student Film Festival was held from 01 to 05 November 2018 in Sofia. Within the five festival days, 105 films from 42 countries were presented in the competition program.
For the first time in the Festival's history one director was President of the jury for the second time. Ana-Maria Comănescu from the Academy of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography, Bucharest, Romania received Early Bird Grand Award twice - for her film In the House in 2015 and Sex, pipe, omelette in 2017. She and her colleagues from the international jury Doina Weber (Germany) and Georgi Tenev (Bulgaria) assigned awards in 11 categories and gave 7 special mentions.
In the educational module of the Festival was presented The 40-minute Challenge: A brief presentation of Alba emoting by Diana Dobreva-Hristova-psychologist-consultant with the online participation of Jessica Beck-actor, theatre director and ALBA-instructor C5.
The special screening of the documentary "Simon vs Fear (the Varsano case)" was combined with an interesting discussion with it's writer and director Georgi Tenev.
