Father's Son

by Nadan Pines
The Steve Tisch School of Film and Television, Israel

Jury Motivation by Ema Konstantinova

This film focuses on an archetypal situation between father and son, immersing us in a complex array of feelings and relationships. Following an unexpected yet logical plot twist, the son’s admiration for his father explosively turns to hatred. An excellent dramaturgical work in a seemingly simple yet profoundly deep and emotionally charged story.

Synopsis

Yotam Regev, a teenage boy and the son of the town’s successful Mayor, has to choose: to tell the truth about his father, or lie and succeed him.
