My First Wedding in Leggings

Synopsis

It's the Corona days and Naomi Efrat, a Reform Rabbinical student, is invited to preform a zoom wedding while she is "vacationing" in her brothers hostel in the far south of Israel with her family.

Director's biography

Avigail Graetz born in Israel in 1975 to American parents.
She has a B.A in film from Tel Aviv University and a M.F.A from Ben-Gurion University in creative writing.
Currently studying MFA in film at Tel- Aviv University.
Wrote six plays that were shown on stage.
She teaches about "Israeli Society as seen through Film" for the Overseas Program at at the University of the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herziliya. Her play Ona’at Devarim- “Verbal Wrongs” was featured at the Akko festival 2006 and “In Case I’m not around” which she directed as well was featured at the Israeli festival 2016. She was awarded the PARDES Fellowship at the National Library of Israel and the Jewish National Fund-Hebrew Literature Prize (2012), both for her debut novel "A rabbi's daughter". Translated to English in 2017. She has published several short stories, as well as poetry, and had a weekly column that integrated the “Portion of the Week” with Buddhist philosophy.
Directed two short films- "London" 2019 and "Wrong Rhythm" 2020.
