Today, Mum Died

by Anis Bribi
La Fémis, France

Jury Motivation by Kalina Nikolova

For its minimalist approach, which nevertheless conveys an extraordinary emotional depth. Through restraint and subtle storytelling, the film gradually unfolds a painful journey into the past, confronting the characters with unspoken truths and revealing their profound longing for love, genuine closeness and the courage to be vulnerable. A film that achieves remarkable emotional intensity without ever resorting to excess, ultimately leading to a luminous and hopeful ending.
