Synopsis

During an expedition, a young photographer miscalculates the time and misses her ride back to the city. At a bus stop, she meets a young man celebrating his birthday. With curfew approaching, the two strangers are forced to spend the night together at a roadside hotel.

Director's biography

Yelyzaveta Toptyhina is a Ukrainian director. She was born in Odesa region, based in Kyiv. She has been engaged in photography since childhood. In 2020, she entered the directing department at the Kyiv National Karpenko-Kary University of Theater, Cinema and Television, Yury Tereshchenko’s workshop. 

As a director, Yelyzaveta works on fiction films, music videos, and documentary projects. Also participates in filming as the 1st AD. Yelyzaveta’s works explore emotional connections between characters, infused with warm irony in both storytelling and imagery. 

CURFEW (2025), her graduation short film, was selected at the 31st Sarajevo FF. The film also won the Audience Choice Award in the National Competition at the 16th Lviv International Film Festival Wiz-Art and was nominated for the European Short Film Audience Award (ESFAA).
