Synopsis

The Black Cat is a short story that presents the pain after losing a beloved one and the different way for coping with the loss and obsessions. Inspired by motives of the life of Niccolo Paganini combined with fiction, the author wants to lead us through a sad a story told in a beautiful way. We are going through themes about harassment, hate, pain but all of that coming from deep and profound love.

Director's biography

Stella Petrova is student at New Bulgarian University in two educational programs - "Cinema and Television" and "Photography". She specializes in film directing and has created visual and audio-visual works in short format so far.
The artist's first major festival appearance was at the 77th Cannes Film festival 2024 with the short film "The Black Cat", selected in the Short Film Corner, Rendez-vous Industry, Curated Market Catalog.
The artist has appearances and honours on the photography scene at the national and international level, such as the debut photography exhibition 2023/2024 at New Bulgarian University, Official Selection in IPA Photography Awards 2024, Honorable Mentions for featured shots in ND Awards, selection for participation with authors photographs at the photography festival "Trieste Photo Days" in Italy.
