Today 22.03.2024, the Romanian director Ana Maria Comănescu, two time winner of Early Bird Grand Award, presents her debut full-length film "Horia" in Sofia. The film, which is a co-production between Romania, Serbia and Bulgaria, is part of the 28th Sofia Film Fest and will be screened to the public at Odeon cimema at 18:00.
Тhe event is expected to be an exciting opportunity for the audience to share a momet with the talented director and screenwriter and to immerse themselves in the magic of her new cinematic work.
"Horia" is a coming-of-age tale about a moody teenager Horia, who is hopelessly in love with a girl who lives on the other side of the country. After a dispute with his father, Horia makes an impulsive decision and leaves his home with his father's old moped, a Mobra. His road trip is hindered by Stella, a clever little girl, and the two are forced by circumstances to travel together and overcome a series of obstacles.
"I wanted to debut with a road movie because it's one of my favorite genres, especially those of the '70s, and I wanted to start from clichés like gas station, police, American diner restaurant, but to interpret them in Romanian space, with everything it offers," stated the director.
We trully belief in Ana Maria's exceptional talent as a filmmaker and wish “Horia” a successful and long festival life.
