Synopsis

"The Other Side of Beauty" is the story of a Sudanese photographer who is passionate about the stars and the beauty of his country. He faces the harsh reality of war and genocide in Darfur. Despite his efforts to raise awareness through his photographs, he encounters indifference and government repression. Before being imprisoned and tortured, he finally manages to reveal the truth to the world, but at what cost?

Director's biography

A Sudanese and Moroccan filmmaker, born in the United Arab Emirates, specializes in screenwriting, directing, and producing. His award-winning short film "Naima's Movie" (2022) has been screened at over 36 international festivals and has received 8 prestigious awards.
